Ottawa’s Politique released a new single called “Meet Me In The Dark” from the upcoming album “Secret Shock”.
I really enjoy this song, very catchy and dance.
Has that indie electro-dance rock.
There is that 1980s feel to it too.
Mallory’s vocals is strong as ever.
If I rate this single, it would be 8/10.

So far the band will be playing a show at Mavericks on November 6th with Loon Choir and Paramedics.
It was a busy packing show at Raw Sugar Cafe on September 4, 2010.
The weather was changing and it was chilly outside but inside Raw Sugar Cafe was already rock hot.
Despite a distraction by firetrucks, ambulance and the po-po on Somerset. Apparently there was a fire on a building.

Happy Labour Day Weekend!
Its definitely the end of summer and people will be back in school or work.
This week’s number one track which is a way to kick off the end of summer is Tashtook’s track simply called End Of Summer.
Listen to it and have a feel for it.
Land Of Talk drops to #2 and this week the music video for Quarry Hymn is out.
Holding steady is Broken Social Scene’s All To All (remix) and this week the fourth remix has been out and its the Jojoflores and Rom remix.
While there are two new debuts one being Ruby Coast’s who this week released an EP (Which you get from Twitter or Facebook) from the upcoming album called Whatever This Is.
The other is DVAS (review of Society) who will be playing in Ottawa on September 18th at Zaphods.
So far the longest songs in the chart is still Arcade Fire.

Being the long Labour Day Weekend, decided to get out of my comfort zone of the indie music scene.
Went to Frenzy which is a monthly techno-dance party at Babylon Nightclub in Ottawa.
I finally got to see Jokers of the Scene, since there have been some buzz about them.
It was also a farewell party because the duo of DJ Booth (aka Linus Booth) and Chameleonic (aka Chris Macintrye) since both are moving to Toronto. [Thank you Guerilla Magazine for all the info]
There was great laser lights from Artengine/Ryan Stec.

DVAS is a electronic dance group from Toronto/Montreal/Edmonton.
The name is short-form for Dietzche V. and the Abominable Snowman.
They will be in Ottawa at Zaphod Beeblebrox on September 18th $6 at the door.
So you better get your dancing shoes and see them live on a Saturday night.
Here is their music video “Society” so you will know what the band sounds like.
I really don’t know that much of the Ottawa underground garage music scene. Besides attending the Gaga Weekend Day show which is sort of close to what the Ottawa Garage scene is like.
I couldn’t help but be curious to what Steve Adamyk Band sounds like.
He plays in a wide sort of bands, one being the Sedatives who I saw play at Ottawa Bluesfest 2009. (This being a funny photo I took of him).
It is not just Steve in the band, he has Male Nurse (who is covered on this site for mostly the acoustic side of his music), Emmanuel Sayer & Dave Williams who plays in the Sedatives and other Ottawa bands helping him out.
Descerate is a 7″ digital EP and there are three tracks.
I was very surprised the title track is 55 seconds.
While Ivy Can’t Wait is 1:50 minutes and Unglued is 2:22 minutes.
I actually like this digital 7″.
I was worried it would be loud in your face but its very poppy alterna-punk.
Definitely was surprised with Desecrate being fun and catchy.
It sounds very reminiscent to The White Wires music since Ian is in Sedatives.

Matt & Kim just released a new single out called Cameras.
Its from their upcoming album “Sidewalks” which drops on November 2nd.
I really love the single Cameras.
Has that fun lightweight poppy-alterna feel to it with the xylophone-ish sound from the 1960s.
Still can’t believe I saw them back in 2008 when they did a show in Ottawa.
In 2009 during NXNE which was tame and not chaotic at the Ottawa show.
I give this single a 9/10.

Its been awhile since I saw Ruby Coast at NXNE and hanging with them at Hotel2Tango recording the new album back in April.

J’envoie is a band whose name popped up around 2008/2009 for various shows in the Ottawa music scene.
If I am correct the band is from Gatineau (formally Hull)?.
