Move over Japandroids, there is another duo band that will be taking over the Canadian indie music scene (Well considering they are touring with them).
I am talking about PS I Love You from Kingston.
The duo consist of Paul Saulnier and Benjamin Nelson.
I was lucky enough to sort of see them live at a NXNE rooftop party and interview Paul Saulnier back in June. Listen to the interview.
The band got some buzz when their song Facelove was on the 7″ split single with Diamond Rings
They will release their first full length called Meet Me At The Muster Station on October 5th from Paperbag Records.
The album title must be a homage of their hometown.
It is ten tracks filled with catchy grungey rock alternative (sometimes poppy) tunes.
There is this 1980s nostalgic new wave rock feel with some added 1990s alternative sound and vocals.
They are very like Japandroids but they are not as heavy and crazy.
Still amazes me that a duo like them can make really great tunes.
Its still their first full-length and you can’t fault them for having really short songs.
Overall a great debut for the mass of Canada to check out and a rocking partying album..
If I rate this, it would be a 8.5/10.

The new single from Belle & Sebastian is called Write About Love.
Its from their upcoming album Belle & Sebastian Write About Love which drops on October 12th.
This is really fun catchy song!
Very poppy and has that cool British Mod feel to it.
Its unlikely of me that I will ever get to see them live.
The only closest thing I have heard from the band is their BBC Sessions.
I should definitely need to get some of their albums.
Probably one of the most anticipated albums for the fall.
Listen to Write About Love.

Happy Labour Day Weekend!

This week’s number one track which is a way to kick off the end of summer is Tashtook’s track simply called End Of Summer.
Listen to it and have a feel for it.
Land Of Talk drops to #2 and this week the music video for Quarry Hymn is out.
Holding steady is Broken Social Scene’s All To All (remix) and this week the fourth remix has been out and its the Jojoflores and Rom remix.
While there are two new debuts one being Ruby Coast’s who this week released an EP (Which you get from Twitter or Facebook) from the upcoming album called Whatever This Is.

Finally there is news about my favorite bands!
Its been awhile since I saw Ruby Coast at NXNE and hanging with them at Hotel2Tango recording the new album back in April.
Heard two new singles from Ruby Coast‘s upcoming full-length album “Whatever This Is” which will drop sometime in 2011.

The singles are:

J’envoie translation in English means “I Send”.
J’envoie is a band whose name popped up around 2008/2009 for various shows in the Ottawa music scene.
If I am correct the band is from Gatineau (formally Hull)?.

The first time I saw We Fled Cairo live was (coincidentally) on April 20, 2008.
They opened for Woodhands at Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Two years has passed for the duo of Dave Mandia who plays Guitar, Bass and sometimes Drums & Richard Monette who plays Drums.
They finally released something substantial called Adult Braces.
Apparently its stated as an EP, feels more like an LP since its eight tracks and pass 30 minutes.
Adult Braces is a indie experimental instrumental post-rock album.
Very trippy, grungey and shoegazing sound.
Being an instrumental album, the duo sure knows how to make interesting song titles.
Not sure if the beginning track is a social commentary of Ottawa’s eating habits.
Overall I am surprised to how well done Adult Brace was made.
Get the album!
