CBC Searchlight Contest Is Hunting For Canada’s Best New Artist!

I know this is a few days late but I just want to spread the word out.
Also “HOPEFULLY” on my Monday radio show Photogmusic LIVE, I will have a special guest calling in at around 3:50pm (You might know who it is but you just have to find out).
Need Ottawa representing this contest!!
So I am just copying and pasting the info/press release.

CBCMusic.ca and CBC Radio One are searching for Canada’s best new artist, and have joined forces with Yamaha Music Canada Ltd. to present the all-new listeners’ choice music contest, SEARCHLIGHT. Beginning today, musicians of all genres, including solo acts, duos, and groups are encouraged to enter the competition with their original track.

SEARCHLIGHT allows musicians from across the country to upload their music on CBCMusic.ca and have listeners vote for their favourites. Musicians can enter the contest between February 4 – 14, 2013 by visiting cbcmusic.ca/searchlight to create an artist profile and to submit one original song. Voting will take place by region between February 18 – March 7, 2013 on CBCMusic.ca, with the winner from each region announced on March 8th. The regional rounds will be hosted by 23 participating CBC Radio One programs across the country, a list of those programs can be found here. Stay tuned to your local CBC Radio One drive home show for weekly updates. Each regional finalist will then go on to compete in a national vote from March 11th – April 11th on CBCMusic.ca, followed by the announcement of the grand prize winner of SEARCHLIGHT on April 12, 2013.

Happy Canada Day 2011!
Hope everyone will be enjoying their weekend and celebrate Canada’s 144th birthday.
I decided to make a mixtape which all the acts that are Canadian.
I know some of the songs don’t have Canada as a theme but just wanted people to have fun or chill to the songs on Canada Day.

It’s only been about a year when I heard of Hamilton, Ontario’s Matt Paxton.
All I know is that he is busy with the new album whenever it sees the light of day.
Just found out that he dropped a new single on his Bandcamp site on February 8th.

Best of 2010: Canadian Albums [TOP 10]

Finally the time has come.
After a month of listening and re-listening the Canadian albums that has been released in the year 2010.
I have made my Top 10 (11) since there is a tie and totally forgot to put down one record which should be on this list.
Since I was going to do a Top 50 which went down to 75.
If you want ot check out the whole list of the Top 75, it is on this page.
Be surprised if this album is not #1 like everyone has been putting it on their best of list.
Wanted to spotlight someone else for the #1 position.
Interesting enough that Luke LaLonde is featured three times in this list.
So let’s cheer or jeer on the Top 10.
