Who would have thought Dirty Projectors could get into EDM.
Anyways today (May 14th) is the release of “The Socialites” Remixes EP which you can get on iTunes.
So get your dancing shoes on to these remixes.
I played the Joe Goddard remix on my radio show on April 8th.
My favorite remix has to be AlunaGeorge‘s version.
Since they are hot at the moment thanks to being at #2 for BBC’s Sound of 2013 and was on Disclosure‘s White Noise.
It has that AlunaGeorge sound with it’s Electronic/R&B and pop sound.

Since it’s 12/12/12.
Who knew Dirty Projector‘s dropped their third music video in 2012.
Offspring Are Blank is the beginning track from Swing Lo Magellan.
I think in my opinion is the standout track on the album.

Today was an abbreviated show.
That was because there was a fire alarm drill that happened at the CHUO‘s University of Ottawa building.
I managed to fit into the 30 minute show.

I ran to the River Stage to finally see Dirty Projectors.
It was the first day of their summer tour.

Record Store Day 2012: What I Bought

It was a cold and rainy day but didn’t stop people for Record Store Day 2012.
Surprised by the turnout when I got to Vertigo Records at 8:30am.
There was already people in line, I was around the 20th person.
Last year I was one of five people who got there at around that time.
I guess the buzz and hype surrounding Record Store Day is a good thing for the indie record shops.
I totally zoom by this year’s event.
