With the aftermath of the freak rain storm that overshadowed The Black Key’s set (Apparently they played at 10:30pm).
The weather on Day 5 of Ottawa Bluesfest 2011 was a different contrast.
It was a perfect day of great live music that played out at the festival.
The acts that I saw were:
After attending the first night of Ottawa Fashion Week 2011.
I headed (more like ran) to Raw Sugar Cafe for the highly anticipated CD Release show for Ottawa’s Giant Hand.
As Giant Hand mentioned, there was double the amount of people attending than last time he did a CD Release show last year.

Opening up for Handsome Furs, Evening Hymns, Ohbijou, The Acorn and Parlovr.
Come March 15th, he will drop the long awaited EP in CD form and on iTunes.

I was kind of surprised to get an email from Halifax’s PR firm Pigeon Row on Giant Hand.
Also surprised that this photo that I took from July 22, 2010 was used.
Must be a good sign for him.

It was a lovely November 18th evening at Umi Cafe.

It was the first night of the i(heart)music festival at Mavericks.
The turnout was not what I expected it probably it was a Thursday night or people are away on vacation before summer ends (WHO KNOWS!).
But I was happy to see all four acts playing one great show on Thursday night.
It was also a last show for this Ottawa band (which I decided to take a Polaroid).

Winnipeg’s Royal Canoe played a unique set at Zaphod Beeblebrox on July 22, 2010.
Also playing were Ottawa’s Giant Hand and The Amalgamation.
Still being post Bluesfest.
It was a great show to enjoy.
I was really impress with Royal Canoe.
They had like six members and their music was very indie synth pop rock.
They were fun to watch live.
Ottawa’s Giant Hand did a great set.
He had two ex-members of City Of Hundred Spires back him up.
He is evolving and definitely experimenting with bigger sounds than just him on his guitar.
The Amalgamation kicked off the set.
