In-Flight Saftey fans rejoice!
They just dropped a new single “Destroy” from the upcoming album.

Paper Beat Scissors – Rest Your Bones [Listen/Download]

The one time I have seen Tim Crabtree who goes by Paper Beat Scissors was two years ago for this intimate session.
Paper Beat Scissors just dropped his self-titled debut album.
Here is a blurb on the album.
“Paper Beat Scissors’ self-titled debut obsesses over ends; ends as states of loss, ends as places for reflection, ends as necessary preconditions to new beginnings.
Tim Crabtree’s haunting voice lies at the centre of everything, with an honesty and rawness that skirts discomfort”
.
Have a listen to Rest Your Bones which features French horn extraordinaire Pietro Amato of The Luyas/Bell Orchestre fame.

Halifax’s Long Long Long seem to be releasing new materials like candy.
Wanting them to very well in 2011.
I was going to do a short review on this (A long title if you say it one breath!) EP called album name

Long Long Long [Album Review]

What a cute photo. You can get their album for free on their Bandcamp website but clicking this photo.

Long Long Long is a track on the White album by The Beatles.
Now it is a Halifax band that takes the name.
Not sure if they got it from that song?
Anyways this band will be joining Braids on January 21st in Ottawa (Facebook Event).

I just found out today that this band I just got to notice (Mostly from CBC Radio 3) and like this year just disbanded.
I could be wrong with the news but let’s see what happens.
The band is I See Rowboats and they are from Halifax. Interesting band name and they released a EP called Hide & Seek Behind The Throne.
Members made up are:

  • William Robinson (vocals, guitar, baritone uke & samples)
  • Solomon Vromans (cello, bass, guitar & saxophone)
  • Lisa Lipton (viola, keyboards, guitar, bass & glockenspiel)
  • Luke Fisher (fiddle)
