Went to a very special and beautiful show at a church.
It was the first time being at St. Luke’s Church.
Also a album release for this past week have been covering on my radio show.
It was also a band’s first time to play in Ottawa too.

Kashka – Beautiful Distraction [4in1 Session Video]

Session #5 of 4in1 happened on July 22, 2012.
I was happy that I got Toronto’s Kashka to do this session.
They did a short but wonderful acoustic session at MacDonald Gardens Park.
Check out the video for Beautiful Distraction.
Kashka – Vichada [Review]
Back in July I got to see Kashka at Raw Sugar Cafe.
Now I got time to review this album before the summer ends!
For those that aren’t aware, Kashka is Kat Burns (formerly of Forest City Lovers) newest project.
It is a departure from the indie folk pop music and with the help of James Bunton (Ohbijou).
Both have made 9 tracks (a bonus track if you buy from Bandcamp) of fun pop electronica dancefloor music.

Kashka – This Machine + Ottawa show on July 22nd @ Raw Sugar Cafe

When Forest City Lovers decided to call it a day and held their last show on April 19th in Toronto.
I was sadden by it and wished to be at that show.
Well one chapter ends and another begins.
With that Kat Burns has a project called Kashka.
It is a departure from the indie folk pop music we were familiar with from Forest City Lovers.
With the help of James Bunton (Ohbijou).
They have created a fun electronica dancefloor music.

The zine is called Static Zine and it is a collective lifestyle and arts zine run out of Toronto.
The first issue came out during NXNE.
The free event took place at two different places.

Forest City Lovers @ Analogue Gallery [NXNE 2011]

The closest of seeing Forest City Lovers at NXNE was at the Analogue Gallery‘s BBQ.
There was only two of them there.
Kat Burns and the violinist who I forgot her name.
It was a nice beautiful set as always and played at the back of the gallery.

Great way to enjoy Forest City Lovers on a bright sunny day.

Kite Hill, Kat Burns and THOMAS @ Raw Sugar Cafe [Photos & Video]
It was a lovely summer-like night of acoustic music at Raw Sugar Cafe on May 24, 2011.
Mostly excited to see all three acts which were:
Best of 2010: Canadian Albums [TOP 10]
Finally the time has come.
After a month of listening and re-listening the Canadian albums that has been released in the year 2010.
I have made my Top 10 (11) since there is a tie and totally forgot to put down one record which should be on this list.
Since I was going to do a Top 50 which went down to 75.
If you want ot check out the whole list of the Top 75, it is on this page.
Be surprised if this album is not #1 like everyone has been putting it on their best of list.
Wanted to spotlight someone else for the #1 position.
Interesting enough that Luke LaLonde is featured three times in this list.
So let’s cheer or jeer on the Top 10.
