After being at the show in Pressed.
I headed over to Babylon Nightclub.
Let’s say it was a complete opposite on the music spectrum.
It was a Ottawa Explosion Presents… and the LP Release show for:
• Steve Adamyk Band

• Sonic Avenues

2012 was The White Wire’s year for dropping an amazing indie garage power pop-punk album and for Ottawa’s music scene.

Get Ready! The White Wires Plays Babylon Nightclub on December 22, 2012!!!

Let’s hope we survive the Mayan Calendar or with the hectic Christmas Holiday shopping/festive stuff!!?
Everyone in Ottawa, get ready for the return of The White Wires.
Myself it’s been awhile that I had seen them play live. (Last time was February 6th)
For those not going away for the Christmas holidays.
Why not go to Babylon on December 22nd for their “proper” LP release of WWIII which dropped on July 31, 2012.
It’s been long over due and it’s going to be one wild show and party.
If you have been living under a rock.
Check out their song All Night Long.
Opening up will be another band who hasn’t played live in Ottawa for awhile.
It is Uranium Comeback.

The music was by the DJs of Ceremony and Kitchen Party.

Steve Adamyk Band, Chinese Telephone & Party Knives @ Dominion Tavern [December 17, 2011]
This was the third and final of three events on December 17, 2011.
You can say it was a change of scenery.
Attended the Steve Adamyk Band‘s Album Release show at the Dominion Tavern.
The band dropped their second album “Forever Can’t Wait” back in the fall and it was time to a proper album release show.
Apparently they had a new drummer. I wouldn’t know since this was my first time seeing Steve Adamyk Band play live.
Also playing at the show was Milwaukee’s Chinese Telephones and Ottawa’s Party Knives.

Steve Adamyk Band – Desecrate (Review)

I really don’t know that much of the Ottawa underground garage music scene. Besides attending the Gaga Weekend Day show which is sort of close to what the Ottawa Garage scene is like.
I couldn’t help but be curious to what Steve Adamyk Band sounds like.
He plays in a wide sort of bands, one being the Sedatives who I saw play at Ottawa Bluesfest 2009. (This being a funny photo I took of him).
It is not just Steve in the band, he has Male Nurse (who is covered on this site for mostly the acoustic side of his music), Emmanuel Sayer & Dave Williams who plays in the Sedatives and other Ottawa bands helping him out.
Descerate is a 7″ digital EP and there are three tracks.
I was very surprised the title track is 55 seconds.
While Ivy Can’t Wait is 1:50 minutes and Unglued is 2:22 minutes.
I actually like this digital 7″.
I was worried it would be loud in your face but its very poppy alterna-punk.
Definitely was surprised with Desecrate being fun and catchy.
It sounds very reminiscent to The White Wires music since Ian is in Sedatives.
Listen to:
- Desecrate
- Ivy Can’t Wait
- Unglued
