Central Art Garage presented the opening for Adrian Göllner‘s All The Birds I Saw Last Year.
Setting himself against famed ornithologist’s John James Audubon’s (1785-1851) declaration that he saw 10,000 birds a day.
Adrian made a record of every bird he saw for a year.
His daily avian observations are exhibited as large illustrated lists from which the viewer can discern the growing dominance of invasive bird species and how our natural world continues to be under threat. Despite dedicated observation of his local environment, it has taken Gollner a full year to even approach Audubon’s number.
