Bathe – Coney Island / Variations [Listen]

Bathe, the Brooklyn-based duo comprised of Corey Smith-West on guitar and Devin Hobdy on vocals, has just unveiled a delightful surprise for fans with the release of two singles from their latest offering, “Bicoastal: B-Sides” via MNRK Music Group.

The first of these tracks, “Coney Island”, immediately immerses listeners in a sun-soaked soundscape, reminiscent of lazy summer days and carefree moments. With its infectious R&B-pop fusion, the song effortlessly transports you to the vibrant energy of the iconic New York destination.

On the flip side, “Variations” offers a different yet equally captivating sonic experience. Here, Bathe showcases their versatility as they seamlessly blend elements of R&B with hints of pop, creating a melodic tapestry that is both soothing and invigorating.
About the tracks by Bathe:
Bathe says, “‘Coney Island’ is a song about the ending of a summer romance. It’s about letting go of someone you had a lot of fun with but who ultimately didn’t even know you all that well—spending your last night together meandering around Coney Island until the sun comes up. Sometimes, the timing is just all wrong. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a summer night together.”

Bathe continues, “‘Variations’ about all the people you can become when you’re in a toxic relationship. Those times, it feels like you don’t recognize yourself in the mirror. Five years into a relationship, you’ll wake up a different person than you were initially. ‘Variations’ is about our mistakes as we change and the patient love that gets us through.”
