2016 has been a fun year for live music.
It was very hard choosing what were my favorites in 2016
So I have narrowed it down to the best 16 of 2016.

| 1. | Pop Montreal 2016. Best moments was watching a rooftop performance (twice) by Leif Vollebekk. D.R.A.M., John Cale, Patrick Watson having a jamming session for Secret City's 10th anniversary, The Submissives, Colin Stetson, Psychic TV, Angel Olsen, Diet Cig, Emilie & Ogden in a church and many more!  |
| 2. | Mitski, Japanese Breakfast and Jay Som at Bar Le Ritz PDB on July 23, 2016. I had to drop everything and go to this show in Montreal where all the acts was fronted by Asian women! I wanted to see Japanese Breakfast because her album Psychopomp resonated with me!  |
| 3. | Arboretum Festival 2016. The fifth edition had Sloan, Hooded Fang, Moss Lime, Fake Palms, Dilly Dally, Twist, Evening Hymns, Jeremy Gara, Doomsquad, FRIGS, Fet. Nat and many more!  |
| 4. | Pup at House of Targ on July 14, 2016. After their set at Bluesfest. They happened to be the secret headlining guest. Let's say thing was totally crazy and wild with hotdogs included!  |
| 5. | Suuns and Scattered Clouds at St. Albans Church on April 21, 2016. Suuns was promoting their third album Hold/Still. Unbelievable show of hazy dreamy alterna-rock music. Scattered Clouds was amazing as always!  |
| 6. | NAC Presents 5th Anniversary show on January 9, 2016 with A Tribe Called Red, U.S. Girls and The Lionyls. Starting off 2016 was this wonderful party by the NAC celebrating 5 years of their "Presents" series. Having the party in the lobby was insanely fun to say the least!  |
| 7. | Megaphono 2016. In it's second year there was great performances by Andy Shauf, Emilie & Ogden, Her Harbour + Isaac Vallentin performing instead an abandoned warehouse/factory, New Swears destroying Axeneo 7 and many more!  |
| 8. | Fet.Nat, Crabe and Bonnie Doon at Le Temporaire on March 20, 2016. EP release for Fet. Nat and boy what a show it was!! Choirs and dancing all over!  |
| 9. | Moon King and Baberaham Lincoln at Pressed on April 16, 2016. Finally Moon King played their first Ottawa show. The band was promoting their 2015 full-length Secret Life.  |
