Another Ottawa band that I noticed this year and went to their CD Release show in September. The dictionary defines soiree as a party or reception held in the evening. Sorry to be cheesy with the definition. They are the Soiree (Soirée, needed to get that french E) and the members are: Matthew Arnold Mike …
The Acorn + Ohbijou + Sleeping Pilot @ Barrymore’s Music Hall
I was stumbling through my e-mail. Killbeat music sent me a e-mail about this artist named Geoff Berner. He is a klezmer (whatever that is and lazy to look it up) artist. Heard the upcoming album Klezmer Mongrels which comes out on January 27, 2008. He plays the accordian and its a different style of …
Jim Bryson’s 9th Annual Blacksheep Holiday Shows
Bad Flirt is a band that I just noticed this year. I first saw them in August where they played a show and I just happened to be there for their last two songs. Thank lovely friend for being late. And saw them again on December 3, 2008 Members of the band are Jasamine White-Gluz, …

Bad Flirt and Receivers at Zapod Beeblebrox
I finally got to see a band that has been doing really well in 2008. Its Two Hours Traffic and they are from the East Coast. Its been a great year for them. Being shortlisted for the Polaris Prize which is got them alot of attention. On to the show.
Went to see three bands at Cafe Dekcuf on Nov 22nd. It happened to be all ages show. I wasn’t annoyed like any typical AA shows. Somehow this was a laid back AA show. Bands playing were The Sunjet Records Band, The Gales and of course Winter Gloves. [flickr-gallery mode=”photoset” photoset=”72157609733067823″]
The show I went tonight was a electronic setting. I went to a basement show on Friday November 21. Its interesting when people know who you are. While I am lost for words or abit clueless because I always forget the people who I encounter during the shows. One of those quirky basement house shows.
