Brooklyn’s DIIV are back with another new dreamy electro-pop track called “Trillions,” accompanied by a suitably flashy music video.
“Trillions” is the third single from the band’s upcoming fifth studio album, ZIRP!, which is set to arrive on October 30, 2026, via Fantasy Records.
This might be the most pop song DIIV have ever made.
Co-written with A. G. Cook, “Trillions” leans heavily into a glossy, dreamy electro-pop sound while still retaining some of the atmospheric qualities that have become part of DIIV’s identity.
The track arrives with a bombastic pop music video directed by Jaxon Whittington. Big house, wads of cash, flashy fast cars, and always fitted in a business suit.
Is it fantasy? Is it delusion? Is it earnest, or is it satire?
That’s complicated, and perhaps that ambiguity is part of what makes “Trillions” so interesting. Everything about the video looks excessive and polished, almost like a fantasy of wealth and success taken to the extreme.
Musically, though, DIIV are clearly embracing their pop side here, and the collaboration with A. G. Cook makes perfect sense.
“Trillions” is catchy, glossy, and much more overtly pop than what I would normally expect from DIIV.
Whatever the intention behind the song and video, “Trillions” is certainly an intriguing preview of what DIIV have in store for ZIRP!.
