On the third day of FME (Festival de Musique Emergente).
It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the family show that was supposed to take place outside was moved into the Petit Theatre du Vieux Noranda.
I got there to see Montreal’s Corridor.
Children running around during their was kind of interesting and funny to see.
Give their set 7/10.
Went to FME HQ for a dinner/soiree party.
Don’t remember who was performing but it was a great time to have some drinks and food.
Caught parts of Camaromance at Agora des Arts.
Camaromance gets 8/10.
Went over to Paramount Theatre and saw Detroit’s Moonwalks.
Give Moonwalks 7/10.
After them was Montreal’s Les Marinellis.
Nice indie psych-rock band.
Give them 6/10.
I was eager to see Yonatan Gat having missed out at CMW 2018.
Things was getting late, I only managed seeing like 15 minutes of the set and missing out the Eastern Medicine Singers.
But it was wonderful seeing him shred guitar.
Yontan Gat without the Eastern Medicine Singers gets 8/10.
The one reason I missed out the whole set by Yonatan Gat was to see the Montreal rock band Teke::Teke at FME 2018.
Infusing Japanese Eleki surf-rock with elements of modern music that include shoegaze, post-punk, and psych rock, as well as Latin and Balkan influences.
It was very surreal and exciting to see!
I was not disappointed at all!
Frigs performed to a full house.
It was also Bria’s birthday.
Quite a while since I last saw them play but a great ansty rock set!
Frigs get 9/10.
Ending the night for myself was Yamantaka // Sonic Titan.
Give them 9/10.
