There is an album that kind of went unnoticed and “under my music radar” in 2008.
Girl Talk’s album Feed The Animals.
A friend was telling me about it during the late summer/early fall but I was kind of clueless about it.
Or when I am at a venue they sometimes played the album.
Have to say this is really a fun album to listen and dance around.
Girl Talk takes “Mash up” and remixing to another level.
The man behind Girl Talk is Gregg Gillis.
I decided to download the album thru the website and downloaded as “I am part of the press, radio, or music industry”
Pulling a la Radiohead for the “pay as you want” album. Which is a good idea.
I could be wrong if there was any controversy about this album.
Considering the amount of songs he is remixing and if he was allow to use the songs.
I love this album because he goes all the spectrum of the music genre from old to now.
Its like going through your whole life that was in pop culture.
Made me remember some of the good old classics like Nothing Compares 2 U, Lovefool, Born Slippy, Firestarter, All That She Wants, A Whiter Shade Of Pale, We Will Rock You, Umbrella and others.
If you go on Wikipedia there is a list of what songs has been featured in this crazy mash-up party.
The only small concern will be if I decide to play this at a party, my friends might not like the amount of rap/hip-hop that is on this album.
Unless I give them alot of alcohol then they wouldn’t notice and have a great time.
I can’t stop listening to it.
