After The Weather Station‘s set at the Drake Hotel during CMW 2012, I wanted to see Kyrie Kristmanson‘s set (she was the reason I wanted to go to this showcase).
I wanted to surprise her that I was there to give my support, since I hadn’t seen her for quite some time, as she’s been living in France.
It was kind of a mini Ottawa reunion; there were a few people there I knew from Ottawa, who now live in Toronto.
It was a brilliant and amazing set, with just Kyrie on stage.
She started off with the acappella “Song X”, which gives me goosebumps.
There were some tracks she premiered, from the upcoming album dropping this fall.
She mentioned a lot of them were inspired by living in France.
There was one new track she wanted to sing, but there were some problems (that I could never fault her for).
She ended it off with the audience’s favorite “Eruption”, where everyone screamed POW!
It was a lovely set she put on.
