Marie-Clo – Shell [Music Video]

Marie-Clo released the music video for Shell
The track is taken from the upcoming EP Shell(e) Pt II which comes out on September 18, 2020.
Nice electro-synth pop tune.

About the song:
Marie-Clo wrote “Shell,” when she was incredibly sick with polycystic ovary syndrome.
She had found a lump in her breast just as her art was taking off.
She felt defeated.
She wrote the song feeling like it represented both her fears of death and of barriers.
Whether they be systemic, human, or personal barriers; “Shell” is about understanding how to differentiate between impossible and possible limits, as well as overcoming them.

The song’s video, directed by Aaron Desilva, represents synergetic strangers creating within a modern day world. Aaron and Marie-Clo had never met before shooting this video, with him living in British Columbia and herself in Ontario.

Nothing kills art or growth like trauma and anxiety. Through “Shell,” she is talking to both her younger self and anyone, especially women, who have been told to slow their roll, as if passion and ideas are negative.
Beware of those who dim your light.
Only nature and ourselves can tell us to settle down.

Shell gets:
/10.
