Ottawa Bluesfest 2011: Day 7

After a Monday off, Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest was up and ready on July 12th.
It was a good day for music.
Mostly in the rock category and one rap/hip-hop act.
The acts that I saw were:

First show was seeing this band called Doll at the Claridge stage.
Didn’t know who they were until I was told from the security guy that they are from Ottawa and the music is grunge rock.
They were captivating.

Went down to the Hard Rock stage to catch Ottawa’s Laurent Bourque.
This was his second time playing the festival.
Put on a really great set.

Headed to the MBNA stage to see Protest the Hero.
I was kind of curious on what kind of show these hard rockers from Whitby ON will do.
Maybe I was anticipating way too much on how chaotic it will be.
But it didn’t happen probably due to a number of reasons.
One being the John Fogerty fans with their lawn chairs.
Two being they were missing a member from the band.
Still a interesting show besides the lead singer talking about kids these days with bad haircuts.

Saw abit of Dana Fuchs at the Subway stage.
Caught one song and for those that don’t know, she contributed to some songs on the Across The Universe soundtrack.
She reminds me of Janis Joplin with that voices of hers.

Caught the last song from Ian Kelly at the Hard Rock stage.
He was really good and didn’t know he is from Quebec.

Lastly I saw Buck 65 at the Hard Rock stage.
Came out wearing a white suit.
There were some songs that was accompanied by a female singer.
It was an amazing set, I was lucky enough to watch the rest of the set on the side stage.
Great dancing to his music.
Afterwards I got to meet him and I was totally nervous and speechless.
Thank you Justyna and Joel who took the photo.
Got a photo taken with him and he was very nice.

That was my night at Bluesfest.
Here are the rest of the photos.
