I was kind of curious to check out this Los Angeles band called Races. The band of six members just got signed to Frenchkiss Records who is home to The Antlers, The Dodos and Passion Pit.

Raw Sugar Cafe was pretty busy on October 22, 2011. It was definitely a hot and demand show with The Wooden Sky and Northcote. Those who was lucky to attend this sold out show was in for a treat.
Rebekah Higgs returned to Ottawa for her own show at Zaphod Beeblebrox. It was sort of an album release for her second album Odd Fellowship which came out in August. Last time I saw Rebekah played in Ottawa was in May.
Ottawa now living in Toronto Eastborough played at Zaphod Beeblebrox on October 21, 2011. Apparently they were the last minute band opening up for Rebekah Higgs.
Fevers is a five-piece Ottawa band. Their music is considered indie synth pop electro-rock. Just think of Stars, Mother Mother, The Postal Service and Yeah Yeah Yeahs all mixed into one. Surprised that Florence + The Machine‘s What The Water Gave Me didn’t make a big splash in the UK and USA singles chart. Probably it was too long and epic. I still prefer this track than Shake It Out. Check out the demo version of What The Water Gave Me. Has more of the electronic side.
