Today, Montreal’s Patrick Watson surprisingly dropped a wonderful and beautiful song with La Force called Height of the Feeling.
The leading single is taken from the upcoming 7th album called Better in the Shade which comes out on April 22, 2022 via Secret City Records.
I am getting a Tracy’s Waters vibe hearing the clanking of the bottles or whatever it is.
Anything Patrick makes is great to listen to!
About the track:
Height of the Feeling is about using intimacy as a compass when you feel out of your skin”.
As he describes, “I sometimes just have trouble without affection to ground me.
I don’t know if that’s good or bad, it just is.
I was lucky to be able to co-write this with Ariel Engle from La Force. She’s so much fun to work with.
We just did loads of improv takes on one mic and giggled together the whole time”.
Sidenote:
I am bummed out that the new album won’t have this song where Patrick sings in Japanese.
