Here is part 2 of who I shall see at NXNE 2011. This being Thursday June 16, 2011. Things are starting to pick up that night. Again I am too overwhelmed on who to see!
Here is my interview with Montreal’s Hexes and Ohs on June 11, 2011. This was before their set at Westfest 2011. It was pretty good interview with. Have a listen to the interview. [audio:http://www.archive.org/download/InterviewWithHexesAndOhs/STE-003.mp3]
Montreal’s Hexes and Ohs was the only act I wanted to see at Westfest 2011. I haven’t seen them play in Ottawa in quite some time. With their indie electronica pop rock music. I was glad they got to play at this event.
Miracle Fortress was in Ottawa on June 10, 2011. Opened up for Junior Boys at Mavericks. I was very excited to see Miracle Fortress since the new album “Was I the Wave?” came out a few weeks ago. Impressed with the new sound on the album.
I will make a separate post on the show I went on June 10, 2011. At Mavericks, Junior Boys was the headliner. But I mostly went to see the openers. One of them was Huren from Hamilton. Not to be confused with Huron who is from Hamilton too.
No Roberta Bondar is not the famous Canadian female Astronaunt. It is a Ottawa band that played a show at Babylon Nightclub on June 9, 2011. The band consist of: Lidija of Silver Birch Society Alex and Tyler from ex-Fire Heats Water Gary from The Pop and Lock show on CHUO FM.
This is the second time I have seen the Dirty Mags play in Ottawa. The first time was them opening up for The Balconies in May 13, 2011. I didn’t even know they were opening up for Kathryn Calder (who I missed out). The band on a great rocking set. Here are the photos. [flickr-gallery …
It’s June and it means the start of the summer festival season. NXNE is happening very fast and this will be my third time attending it. I always have a fun time attending NXNE. You can go check out what I did on previous NXNE coverage on here. This is part one of who *whoever …
I hope I don’t “F**k up” this album review? 😛 There is high *literally* anticipation on June 7, 2011. Why? The new album by Toronto’s Fucked Up with what is being hailed as a rock-opera. With eighteen tracks will people want to listen to 1.2 hours of punk and hard rock music?
Went to a interesting show at Raw Sugar Cafe on June 6, 2011. Playing at the show were: Bill Orcutt Black Walls (aka Ken Reaume) Kingdom Shore
