Yesterday was the last day of November in Ottawa, and I headed up to Raw Sugar Cafe to see Kathryn Calder and Himalayan Bear. It was a pretty nice, standing up intimate show. Thanks goes to CBC Radio 1‘s Q, where she was a musical guest that same day.

November 26, 2011 was a busy night in Ottawa. First stop was at Avant-Garde Bar. It was last minute that I found out that Behind Sapphire, from Vancouver, were playing. Also on the bill was Toronto’s The Elwins, who finally played a show in Ottawa.
With various shows happening on November 25, 2011, I decided to go to Babylon Nightclub to support two Ottawa acts. The show was a celebration and a thank you to the fans of Sound of Lions, who recently won Best New Act and Best Album from the Ottawa Xpress Readers Poll 2011.
With various shows happening all over Ottawa on November 24, 2011, I decided to go to Raw Sugar Cafe to see two new up and coming bands from the USA. One was Friends (simply Friends), from Brooklyn, New York. The other was Ganglians, from Sacramento.
I didn’t see Vancouver’s Mother Mother play at Ottawa‘s Broson Centre for the sold out show on November 24, 2011, but I managed to do a short interview with band members Ali Siadat, who plays drums, and Jasmin Parker, who plays keyboards and sings. It was a nice interview I did with both of them.
