The Darcys & Rey Pila @ Zaphod Beeblebrox [November 9, 2012]

It was a busy Friday night in Ottawa.
There was alot of things going.
I decided to go to this show at Zaphod Beeblebrox.
Playing at the show:
The Darcys

Rey Pila

This is going to be a shocker, this is the first show of 2012 I got to see The Darcys.
The Toronto band is having a stellar 2012 touring North America and parts of Europe in support of their interpretation of Steely Dan’s 1977 classic “Aja”.
I finally got to see them this year for a live show.

The show started off with Mexico City’s Rey Pila.
Their music was a blend of indie synth-electro rock.
Something on the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party and Broken Social Scene.
They were amazing and brilliant live.

Then it was The Darcys turn to come on stage.
It was part of the “The Darcys Presents A Live Interpretation of Aja”
They played from beginning to end of the album “Aja”.
Man it was a kick ass set!
Totally exploded my ears hearing Peg and Home at Last.
Cool to see the band looking all spiffy.
Totally amazing!

Here are the rest of the photos.
