From one great event to another event which I felt was promising but came crashing down for a Friday night.
Timekode celebrated their 10th anniversary with a lavish event at the Horticulture building in Lansdowne Park.
They had Quantic DJing for the big celebration plus they had their first vinyl release of two remixes of Bonjay and Souljazz Orchestra tracks.
Despite having to pay $10 (thank you Clau!) to get in to take some photos.
I’m just going to be blunt and about this.
With all the hoopla about this being the 10th anniversary being sold out, it felt so half empty with such a big space.
But I was told it was probably due to the liquor license.
While the dancefloor was very spacious to move around. It was more crowded for coat check and at the bar.
Maybe the few times I’ve been to Timekode being at it’s old-old location which was at Eri Cafe that a big venue in Lansdowne Park kind of lost it’s charm.
With I decided to let go of the frustration and danced it off.
Here’s to another few great years for Ottawa’s night party.
