Austra returned to the stage with a sold-out show at Club SAW, their first tour in eight years—and it was absolutely worth the wait.
Katie Stelmanis is currently touring in support of Chin Up Buttercup, delivering a euphoric set packed with indie-electronica and pulse-driven dance music.
The night’s setlist was a well-balanced mix of new material and fan favourites pulled from Olympia, Future Politics, and of course Feel It Break. Highlights included “Beat and the Pulse” and “Lose It,” both of which had me singing along without hesitation.
A small dance pit quickly formed, filled with friends and fans clearly there to let loose and have fun.
Opening the night was PYNE, the project of Alanna Stuart, who delivered a vibrant and confident set.
Blending elements of electronica, R&B/soul, dancehall, and reggae, Pyne offered an exciting preview of her upcoming album and set the tone perfectly for the night.
For those wondering, PYNE stands for Pretty Young. New Energy.
