Loon Town, Loon Choir and Christina Bell @ Happy Goat Coffee
LOON TOWN
This show marks the launch of Loon Town’s first full-length album “Slow Space,” an experiment in collaborative/collective songwriting that took place throughout 2020 and 2021. Danielle Savage, David Lacalamita and Nic Hyatt exchanged ideas through a series of virtual and in-person residencies, selecting 12 songs from 20 that emerged from the process to release on this record. Drummer Mili Hong has been there since the beginning of this project, and joins us this evening to bring the songs to life.
LOON CHOIR
This 8-piece experimental ensemble has been a mainstay of the Ottawa music community since 2009. In an intimate venue like Happy Goat, this band is sure to blow you away. Loon Choir’s music and lyrics allude to injustice and the destruction of nature. It’s a tall order to fill, and these musicians deliver with a live set packed full of enthusiasm, spontaneity, and sincerity.
CHRISTINA BELL
Multi-disciplinary artist Christina Bell hails from Gatineau. Her musical projects bring people together to create music that dabbles in hyper-pop, folk, and rock.
