Refreshingly modern and fun music about the importance of chosen family\, staying together and the love of daydreaming and eating wonderful food.\nCentury Egg is a band of escape artists. On their debut EP for Forward Music Group\, the Halifax four-piece blaze through basement pop jams carefully crafted with the desires of the listener at the front of their minds. The desire to move\, to dance\, to let go of our walls and our traumas. Century Egg creates music to make us free.\nComing hot of the heels of their We Can Play ep\, Little Piece of Hair is the bands loudest\, clearest mission statement to date. Boasting a new rhythm section of Matty Grace on Bass and Meg Yoshida on drums\, Century Egg is a band reborn.\nhttps://centuryegg.bandcamp.com/music\n\nA trio of deep-thinkin’ rippers\, New Brunswick’s Motherhood achieve one very rare and uncomplicated feat: they sound EXCITING on record and stage alike. Unlike so many awkward experiments by peers and ‘adventurous’ contemporary rock outfits\, Motherhood’s music explodes with the kind of charm and exuberance you can’t just order. No\, it’d take years of late nite couch-crumpled conversations\, bathroom stall barfs and parking lot laughter to achieve the kind of chemistry these three exude. If we’re calling this art rock\, it’s because\, in 2021\, commitment is a precious art indeed. And make no mistake\, Motherhood is all about commitment.\nhttps://motherhoodmusic.bandcamp.com/\n\nLady Charles is a shape-shifting art rock enchanter/ress from Ottawa\, Canada. They released their self-titled debut EP in 2020\, blending elements of folk\, indie rock\, and electronica with themes of gender\, apocalypse\, and lost friendships. Their 2020 single Manic Pixie Dream Boy brought their sound and image to a wider audience\, racking up thousands of listens and views and even getting a shout-out from of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes. They are soon to release a new music video for their new single\, the holographic glam-pop love song Noella (I Can’t Get Enough of You) as well as a full-length album of original music at the end of 2021 featuring contributions from members of Tokyo Police Club\, Raphael Saadiq’s band\, Lavola\, and Valois. Buoyed by a kaleidoscopic and vibrant aesthetic\, Charles’ blend of art rock sensibilities\, glam visuals\, and punk rock abandon chart a new course into musical parts unknown.\nhttps://ladycharles.bandcamp.com/
