Finally back home in Ottawa.
I needed a big rest after these four days at FME in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
On my last day which took place on September 3, 2023.
Started off with the 5 à 7 show with Knitting who I really wanted to see for the first time playing some moody bedroom alternative rock pop music.
Caught a few songs of the Montreal band Comment Debord with their Franco-pop and groovy rock music.
The secret show I didn’t want to miss out was Montreal’s Karma Glider playing at Parc Tremoy L’Amphitheatre.
Great set to watch the sunset.
The band is new project from HEAT’s Susil Sharma and Reversing Fall’s Charlie Neufeld.
They had this shoegaze somewhat Brit-pop and alternative music.
Over at the Guinguette where I saw parts of Hippie Hourrah, LUMIÈRE and Philippe Brach.
You can say three times a charm for Tukan and they played the main side stage.
Of course they were great with their house electronica dance music.
Ended my night seeing Saints Martyrs with the loud and art punk performance.
Lead singer dressing up like a priest, kind of a freaky deaky exorcism horror movie.
So after these 4 days which was great to see some new acts and what is happening in the Francophone scene.
Is this like a pre-cursor on who I want to see at Pop Montreal.
Not sure if I will come back next year with all the mishaps that I dealt coming and leaving this town.
Time will tell.
