Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island’s Gizmo is one of those bands I somehow feel like I’ve been sleeping on.
Thankfully, “Antiques Roadshow” is a pretty great introduction.
Today, the band released the music video for their latest single, “Antiques Roadshow,” the fourth single from their upcoming full-length album All Your Worships, due out October 2, 2026 via Victory Pool.
And yes, the song is indeed inspired by the beloved PBS television show.
Clocking in at around four minutes, “Antiques Roadshow” feels like a lost 90s guitar-rock gem.
Gizmo taps into that slacker-rock sound with crunchy guitars, a laid-back delivery and an effortlessly catchy quality that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
There is something wonderfully unpolished about the track, giving it the kind of loose, road-worn energy that made so much 90s indie and alternative rock so memorable.
According to Julien Kitson, the opening lyric was inspired by his memories of watching Antiques Roadshow on PBS at 1 a.m. as a child. Originally written in 2022, the song was later brought back to life when Kitson and the rest of Gizmo reworked and finished it together during a band practice before a festival appearance.
After performing it at the festival, the band realized the song had something special.
That live-tested quality comes through.
“Antiques Roadshow” has the feeling of a song made for getting in the car, hitting the highway and figuring out where the road takes you.
What started with a nostalgic television reference has evolved into what Kitson describes as a metaphorical anthem for hitting the road with friends.
“Antiques Roadshow” is a fun, catchy and wonderfully scruffy slice of 90s-inspired guitar rock.
If this is my introduction to Gizmo, I’m definitely going to have to go back and see what else I’ve been missing.
With All Your Worships arriving in October, Gizmo might just be a Charlottetown band worth keeping on your radar.
