Justin Karas – Flowers Wild Abound [Streaming]

Montreal harpist and composer Justin Karas recently released his debut solo album Flowers Wild Abound, co-produced by Sarah Pagé.
The record is a beautiful and intimate blend of chamber-pop and folk, centered around the harp and enriched with lush arrangements.
Karas crafts a world that feels both delicate and grand, evoking the emotional resonance of artists like Owen Pallett, Sufjan Stevens, Joanna Newsom, and Rufus Wainwright.

About the album by Justin:
Flowers Wild Abound is a 10-track collection of intricately layered chamber-folk songs exploring memory, nature, and connection, the album arrives following years of quiet development and sonic experimentation

“Writing this record often felt like stepping into a dense field of wildflowers,” says Karas. “I wasn’t sure where I was going, but I had to listen carefully to know what path to take.”

Co-produced with experimental harpist Sarah Pagé, Flowers Wild Abound is a sonically lush and emotionally open work. Harp remains the record’s anchor, but its nine songs are rendered in vivid, textured detail, with arrangements for reed quintet, string trio, flute, pedal steel, vibraphone, and more. Each track is rich with double meanings—where a love song may also be a song to the natural world, and metaphors about borders might speak to both global division and personal protection.
The album takes its title from a recurring lyrical and visual motif: flowers as a language of nature—wild, delicate, and deeply symbolic.
