Today, Canadian experimental composer Kara-Lis Coverdale released “Offload Flip”, the third and final single from her long-awaited album From Where You Came, out this Friday via Smalltown Supersound (International) and Envision Records (Canada).
“Offload Flip” is a dark, glitchy, and intricately layered electronic composition that pushes the boundaries of sonic form. Coverdale continues to blur the line between digital manipulation and organic resonance, crafting an unsettling yet artful soundscape that feels both cerebral and visceral. Fragmented textures collide and unravel, suggesting a sense of digital overload while maintaining a stark, meditative core. It’s another compelling glimpse into what promises to be one of the year’s most adventurous and boundary-pushing electronic releases.
About the track by Kara-Lis:
“Offload Flip” is for going off on a system.
So much of what I do is very intricate and detailed, takes a long time to design and execute, and works through deep metaphor.”
Offload Flip” is sort of an anti-delicate counterpart to that, and is also a way for me to explore my own space of more directly physical movement, which comes naturally as a soundsystem artist who frequently shares backrooms with DJs on festival tours and someone who loves to dance to get loose.
It’s a bleed of communication and an outlier on the record, and almost occurs as a reset blip.
I love that.
It became an essential.
