Recently Canadian composer and synth maven Nick Schofield unveiled the music video for “Magic Touch,” featuring No Cosmos.
The track is the second single from his upcoming album Blue Hour, out February 6, 2026 via Backward Music, an imprint of Forward Music Group.
“Magic Touch” offers another dreamy, airy blend of ambient and jazz—music that feels nostalgic, quietly luminous, and blissfully weightless.
About the track by Nick:
It’s worth noting that I improvised all the drum parts on the album – I just set up my late ‘60s Ludwig drum kit in a church and started playing along to some synth sequences I came up with on the spot.
My music is always created ‘in the moment’.
I never really write a song ahead of time.
The music tends to flow out and I build on that moment.
Magic Touch has that special spark, it really came alive instantly.
The incredible trumpet playing is also totally improvised by Scott Bevins (No Cosmos).
