Pop Montreal 2025 [Day 2]

The second day of Pop Montreal 2025 was packed with discoveries and surprises across multiple venues.
I started the night at La Sala Rossa, where Toronto’s provocative industrial-electronic group Slash Need delivered an intense, freaky-deeky set that pushed boundaries and had the packed room fully engaged.

From there, I made my way to the Rialto Theatre for SUUNS, who stepped in as a last-minute replacement.
Their trademark blend of indie experimental rock carried the night, reminding the crowd why they’re one of Montreal’s most innovative live acts.

Over at Rialto Hall, Annie-Claude Deschênes brought her signature indie electro-dance energy, followed by Bolis Pupul, whose hypnotic electronic grooves kept the audience moving late into the night.

A surprise highlight came at P’tit Ours, where the showcase was running behind schedule. That twist of luck allowed me to catch Joseph Shabason’s set—an immersive performance blending experimental jazz with ambient synth-pop textures.

I closed out the night at Piccolo Rialto, where Les Shirley turned up the volume with their rocking set, before Jesuslesfilles capped things off with a delayed but high-energy performance.

All in all, it was a vibrant Thursday night filled with eclectic sounds and the kind of serendipitous moments that make Pop Montreal so special.
