RBC Ottawa Bluesfest 2023 [Day 9]

After 9 days of live music on LeBreton Flats, RBC Ottawa Bluesfest ended off with more of a low key lineup with the acts that I truly enjoyed.

Headlining the main stage was The Smile which is Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood’s new project.
While it is not quite Radiohead, this was more like a spin-off band.
So glad that I got to photograph for the first three songs and hasn’t hit me that I got photograph Thom Yorke.
The band performed a wonderful set from their 2022 album A Light For Attracting Attention and some new materials.
Waited until they played The Smoke and was happy.
I didn’t mind the low attendance, just thought of it being a intimate show in a big backyard.

Second band on the main stage was Toronto based band and now Polaris Music Prize 2023 shortlisted Alvvays.
Performed a mix from Blue Rev, Antisocialites and self-titled album.
As always loved hearing their catchy indie jangle dreamy alterna-pop music.
