When I think of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, it will be their breakout hit song Gold Lion.
Its been about three years since their last studio album.
March 9th, 2009 was the release date.
“It’s Blitz!” indeed marked a shift in the band’s sound, embracing a more electronic and dance-oriented direction compared to their previous work. The electro-dance rock sound of “Zero” and “Heads Will Roll” brought a fresh and energetic vibe to their discography. The use of U2’s guitar riff in “Heads Will Roll” showcases how artists often draw inspiration from various sources to create new and innovative music.
The inclusion of acoustic tracks in the deluxe edition, harkening back to the band’s older sound, demonstrates their versatility and willingness to explore different musical styles within the same album. It’s always interesting to see how artists evolve over time while maintaining elements of their signature sound.
“It’s Blitz!” was indeed well-received and is often regarded as one of the standout albums of 2009. Music enthusiasts appreciate the band’s ability to reinvent themselves while retaining the essence that makes Yeah Yeah Yeahs distinctive.
Have to say one of the best albums of 2009 at the moment.

Oh awesome, I was thinking of buying their new album but wasn’t sure if I wanted to. I definitely will, now.
Good review.
i agree! good album, but it definitely sways from their older stuff. i still love the raw ‘fever to tell’ sounds as opposed to this mellow turn they’ve taken, but it’s a really sweet album!
By far one of the best albums of 2009 so far on my list. I love Faces. Great review, I completely agree that I would love to see Metric sound more like the Blitz album
