Today the Toronto band Born Ruffians dropped the lyrical music video for Supersonic Man.
The fourth single is taken from the band’s upcoming album Beauty’s Pride which is set for release on June 6, 2025 via Wavy Haze Records.
With a chill, moody pop-rock vibe, “Supersonic Man” showcases the band’s knack for crafting atmospheric yet infectious melodies.
The track carries a sense of weightless euphoria, balancing laid-back grooves with introspective lyricism.
About the track by Luke:
“Supersonic Man is a sci-fi short story about a humanoid alien arriving on Earth, which also serves as a metaphor for childbirth.
My wife was pregnant with our first child during much of the writing process for Beauty’s Pride, and he was born while we were recording and mixing the album, so his presence is all over these songs.
In Supersonic Man, I’m picturing him like Kal-El before he became Superman, hurtling toward Earth in his space pod.”
Lalonde, who’s been the band’s principal songwriter for over 20 years, says, “Whenever we finish a record, I usually don’t want to hear it again, but this time, I actually like it!”
