A Friday night show I didn’t want to miss was Cadence Weapon’s performance at the NAC Fourth Stage.
Rollie hadn’t played in Ottawa since 2018 when he opened for Too Many Zooz, making this a long-overdue return.
His set spanned his catalog, featuring tracks from Rollercoaster (2014) and his Polaris Prize-winning Parallel World (2021).
He also performed Sharks from Breaking Kayfabe, a track now marking its 20th anniversary.
The night ended on a high note with Night Service and Sunrise, as the crowd got up and danced.
