CityFolk 2019 [Day 2]

Second day of CityFolk Festival brought back 90s alt-rock nostalgia with Summersault 2019 at the City Stage.
While the Ravenlaw Stage was treated with some two folks acts The Paris and Donovan Woods plus ending it off with high energetic dance pop sing-along Rich Aucoin.
Summersault 2019 is the brainchild of Our Lady Peace’s Raine Maida and was relauched this year.
Kicking off was Dear Rouge who always puts on a captivating electro-rock set!
Danielle coming out in a lovely sort of Kimono robe inspired wear.
Great listening to Modern ShakedownLive Through The NightBoys & Blondes plus they covered LCD Soundsystem’s North American Scum in what was about 30 minute set. 8/10.
This was my first time seeing Bush.
Bought back a sense of nostalgia from the 1990s when Much Music actually played music videos and when they were called Bush X.
When they started off with Machinehead, I just was happy!
Mix of classics and current materials from their repertoire.
Very glad to sing along to Glycerine and Comedown! 9/10.
Live was next and thank you rain gods for not cutting their set short like a few years ago at Ottawa Bluesfest.
Wonderful set where they performed mostly from Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi and one from Mental Jewelry.
Highlight was hearing Lightning Crashes and covering Paint it Black. 8/10.
Our Lady Peace ended the night at the City Stage.
OLP was OLP that is all I can say. 8/10.
Headed over to Ravenlaw to see Rich Aucoin’s set.
There was no way I wanted to miss out on the fun!
No confetti but the parachute did come out!
Danced, singed so loud that it was a wonderful way to end my Friday night at CityFolk. 10/10.
