I went up to Montreal for one night because I wanted to see Grimes perform a sold out show at Metropolis.
The concert was also part of this music festival that happened this weekend called M For Montreal.
I didn’t get a media pass (Wanted to enjoy it) but through connections I did manage to get in to one other show at Club Soda.
With no good photos, you just have to deal with my Instagram photos that I took.
I know the quality isn’t good but whatever!
That was Grimes at Metropolis doing her Rhinestone Cowgirls tour.
It was definitely a crazy, fun, crowded and sweaty dance party.
She performed in my opinion alot of materials from her 2012 album Visions.
Was very happy with Be A Body and Symphonia IX (My Wait Is U)
Of course performed materials from the new album Art Angels.
Even the atrocious song Go was even performed.
Trying to see the stage, there was alot of dancers and Grimes trying to run around the stage.
What was even surprising, Grimes didn’t perform the leading Art Angels single, Flesh Without Blood.
That was Nicole Dollanganger who happens to be Grime’s first artist signed to her Eerie Collective.
With all openers, it was not that interesting.
Sounded like a goth version of Grimes or something like Evanescence.
That was the first stop.
Afterwards I went over to Club Soda.
Chocolat was the first band I caught.
It wasn’t a great show because I couldn’t hear the vocals.
Sounded really muffled.
First time seeing Duchess Says and they literally blew my mind away!!
Can you find me on the stage?
Maybe next year I will go to the festival.
So that ends off my Saturday night in Montreal.
