Memoryhouse and The Rest @ Mavericks [October 8, 2011]

Memoryhouse @ Mavericks
I finally got a chance to see these two bands play in Ottawa’s Mavericks on October 8, 2011.
Talking about Memoryhouse and The Rest.
It was a far different show from the night before.
More of a intimate/dreamy pop show.
Memoryhouse @ Mavericks

I was very excited to see Memoryhouse with all the attention they have been getting this year.
One being signed to Sub Pop and EP released in September.
The Rest @ Mavericks
Hamilton’s The Rest started off the show.
This was my first time to see them live.
It was also the band’s first Ottawa show considering they have been around for about 9 years.
I heard about them when I received an email and listened to their song.
The Rest @ Mavericks
Their music is a mix of indie pop rock with some orchestral and epic guitar sounds.
They played some materials from their first album “Everyone All At Once” and preview some tracks from the 2012 album “Seesaw”.
I was really impressed with their set.
It was kind of like deja-vu from the night before with Ra Ra Riot with the whole cello.
A band that you should definitely check out.
Memoryhouse @ Mavericks
Finally it was Memoryhouse’s turn.
It was a brilliant set.
Music was filled with indie dreamy pop sounds.
They had a nice visual up which happens to be this video

Memoryhouse played tracks from the Years EP and tracks from the upcoming full-length album in 2012.
Forgot that they are a talented band.
Finally met Denise Nouvion for the first time.
She is a photographer and used to take photos for the site WGTS Magazine (now defunct) which I did contributed.
All I have to say that Denise and Evan are really nice people too.
Memoryhouse @ Mavericks
I was kind of glad the show was not too crazy crowded.
Like to experience Memoryhouse in a intimate show setting.
Later in time they will totally pack a show in Ottawa.
Here are the rest of the photos.

If you don’t know what Memoryhouse sounds like from their EP and a free song called Quiet America.
