On October 3, Ottawa Music Industry Coalition held their monthly event to bring together the voices of the local music industry.
The event took place at Bar Robo and the topic was how to put Ottawa on the Map when it comes to the music scene.
There was a lovely performance by Tara Shannon.
The discussions asked were in the following.
- What is the role of the individual artist in building a thriving music scene?
- What can your arts community do for you, and what can you do for your arts community?
- Competitive or collaborative – what will pay off?
It was a great discussion hearing what musicians had to say.
One being that Ottawa needs an Entertainment district like they do in New Orleans, Toronto, Vancouver, NYC and so on.
