For the third year in a row, I made my way to Montreal in early August for one of the biggest summer festivals in Canada – Osheaga, which ran from August 1 to 3, 2025.
Armed with my trusty Sony RX100VII, I spent Day 1 roaming Parc Jean-Drapeau capturing moments and soaking up the music.
Here are some highlights from Day 1:
Begonia kicked things off on the main stage with a powerful set of indie pop soul that set the tone for the day.

Dua Saleh brought a fierce and genre-bending hip-hop performance straight from Los Angeles.

Montreal’s own Group Project delivered a fun and energetic hometown set, .

Aqyila from Toronto charmed the crowd with smooth R&B vibes.

UK rockers The Struts amped things up with glam-rock flair.

Joey Valence & Brae were a wild surprise—bringing high-octane energy to the stage.

Damiano David, best known from Måneskin, turned heads with his solo performance.

Finneas delivered polished pop that felt both intimate and cinematic.

French psych-pop outfit La Femme were as eclectic and stylish as ever.

Glass Animals had the crowd swaying with their lush, danceable soundscapes.

Jorja Smith mesmerized with her soulful voice and commanding stage presence.

One of my personal favourites, Barry Can’t Swim, had me dancing non-stop—such a joyful set!

The night ended on a high note with Doechii, who played her first-ever Canadian show. She completely owned the stage, and I couldn’t stop dancing.
