It was another wonderful evening on the second-last night of Ottawa Jazz Festival 2026.
People came out in droves, filling the festival grounds with anticipation to see what St. Vincent would bring to the stage alongside the National Arts Centre Orchestra.
She more than delivered, presenting a stunning performance with her music beautifully reimagined in an orchestral setting, thanks to the brilliant arrangements by Rachel Eckroth and the masterful conducting of Jules Buckley.

The set featured gorgeous orchestral interpretations spanning her entire career, including songs from Marry Me, Actor, Strange Mercy, St. Vincent, MASSEDUCTION, Daddy’s Home, and All Born Screaming.
The setlist closely mirrored Live in London! (BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall), making it a special treat for longtime fans.
It was, without question, one of the defining performances—and my personal highlight—of this year’s festival.

Over at the Elgin St. Stage, there were equally memorable performances. Montreal-based musician SALIN delivered an electrifying set that blended Afrobeat, funk, jazz, and soul into an irresistible groove, while The Robert Lee Group offered a more intimate, seated performance that fused contemporary jazz with subtle Korean influences.
