Second last day of RBC Ottawa Bluesfest and it was a retro R&B/hip-hop night.
Headlining the main stage was Ja Rule.
I am going to say this was a head scratcher since he hadn’t been popular since the 2000s.
What a coincidence that Pitchfork just dropped their Sunday Review today on his 2001 album. (Read it, it is pretty in-depth)
At least I got to hear I’m Real and Ain’t It Funny.
TLC who performed second.
I actually had a great time and brought back memories listening to the hits from Baby Baby Baby, Creep, Red Light Special, Unpretty, No Scrubs and Waterfalls.
Were they lip-syncing? I didn’t noticed and was having a fun time with friends singing out loud!
grandson who headlined the River Stage, was pretty lively and vibrant.
Crystal Shawanda got things bluesy rock at the SiriusXM stage.
Big Zee who replaced Bones Thugs-N-Harmony on the main stage.
Got things kicking off with local hip-hop music and had special guests one being Twotiime
Lia Kloud at the River Stage with rap/hip-hop music.
Started off with Sly High with their blend of funk, soul and dance music.
