Today the Montreal trio Sarah Neufeld, Richard Reed Parry, and Rebecca Foon.
The trio recently unveiled the music video for their second single, “Slow New Year” a track from their forthcoming debut album First Sounds, set to be released on November 1, 2024, via One Little Independent outside of Canada and Envision Records within Canada.
“Slow New Year” is a surreal and beautiful composition that seamlessly blends instrumental and modern classical elements, creating an immersive and evocative soundscape.
It’s a mesmerizing introduction to the trio’s collaborative work, setting high expectations for the full album.
About the track by the trio:
“This piece was what originally spurred this album into being a bass fiddle tune that sounded far too lonely sounding for it to be played alone.
I picked up the phone and proposed we make an album.
We recorded this piece in one or two takes with very little discussion beforehand.”
