I wasn’t familiar with the band called Suckers.
They are from Brooklyn, New York and I think people should have a listen to them.
The band consists of:
- Quinn Walker
- Austin Fisher
- Brian Aiken
- Pan
The band just dropped their second album “Candy Salad” which is out on Frenchkiss Records.
With a band named like that I would have expected something lout and heavy, was I definitely wrong!
I was merely impressed with their indie experimental pop-rock sound.
There are parts in the album I feel like listening to either Journey in the song “Charmaine” and Phil Collins-esque in “George”.
With heavy pumping drumming in “Figure It Out” to a epic retro rock track in “Chinese Braille”.
Overall I was really like this album!
They almost remind me of Hooray For Earth but not too synth-like.
If you like the music that is coming out of Brooklyn, then you should check them out.
Best tracks:
- Going Nowhere
- Figure It Out
- Chinese Braille
- Leave the Light On
- Charmaine
- George
- Turn on the Sunshine
