It is the Ottawa School of Art’s pleasure to invite you to our Annual Fundraising Event J’ADART: For the Love of Art. This year we are happy to be part of The Happening Ottawa! Guided by our motto “Teaching art to everyone”
J’ADART has a target of raising $15,000 and promotion for our Bursary and Community Outreach Programs. As a not for profit charity organization, OSA provides barrier-free art classes to hundreds of students each year through our Bursary Program and our Community Outreach Program. We partner with 9 different community houses and centres across the city to make our Community Outreach program happen. Please join us and demonstrate a commitment to arts education and culture in Ottawa. Studying visual arts provides unique ways of learning, doing, and being for all students. A large component of our fundraising comes from this fantastic event. We need your support to help us enrich the lives of students in need by providing them with quality art instruction taught by professional artists. Your support will enable OSA in providing these children and youth with new ways of self expression, self- awareness and confidence.
Community centres and houses include:
Operation Come Home
Minwaashin Lodge Programs
Rochester Heights Community House
Ottawa Inuit Children’s Centre
Sandy Hill CHC / CSC Côte-de-sable
Michelle Heights Community Centre
Winthrop Court Community House PQCHC
Christie Lake Kids Jr & Senior
J’ADART will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, at 6:00pm at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre (GCTC). Our theme for the evening is “Dress as your favourite Canadian Artist or Artwork!” With live music from pianist John Kofi Dapaah, interactive arts activities, an amazing silent auction, and delicious hors d’oeuvres from Thyme & Again Creative Catering.
As we continue to organize this unique event, we would like to keep you informed and answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact our Resource Coordinator, Malika Welsh, at development@artottawa.ca, or call 613-241-7471, extension 31. We hope to see you can help us celebrate the impact OSA has on our community and the work we will continue to do for the city of Ottawa.
