Stephen Fearing Album Launch & Tiny Stage Podcast Recording
September 15 @ 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
Stephen Fearing brings his brand new, vinyl-only release, The Secret of Climbing, to the stage at The Record Centre. The event kicks off with an interview by music journalist Roch Parisien and then Stephen will perform tracks from the record.
A multi-JUNO and Canadian Folk Music Awards-winner and founding member of Blackie and The Rodeo Kings, Fearing collaborated on the record with two music industry legends: the album’s co-producer and veteran engineer Roy Gandy, co-founder of UK-based hi-fi manufacturer Rega Research, and renowned International Mastering Engineer Ray Staff, who has worked with an array of iconic artists, from Cab Calloway, Van Morrison, and Cowboy Junkies to Led Zeppelin, The Clash, and The Rolling Stones.
The Secret of Climbing captures the subtle emotions of Fearing’s mesmerizing voice and masterful guitar work in their purest form, recorded off the floor and unobscured by computers or studio wizardry. What you hear through your speakers or headphones is as close as you can get to what he played in Roy’s home studio in the heart of the English countryside.
