Advance Base, Nicholas Krgovich and Tea & Oranges @ Rainbow Bistro

A lovely, intimate Monday night at the Rainbow Bistro, as Advance Base, Nicholas Krgovich, and Tea & Oranges took the stage for a show presented by Congrego.
Advance Base is currently on their Ontario Car Shadow Tour, with Ottawa marking the fourth stop.
Their set leaned into their signature lo-fi, melancholic electronic alt-pop, drawing from Horrible Occurrences and Animal Companionship, along with a few well-chosen covers.
The performance felt deeply personal, with each song unfolding like a quiet confession.

Nicholas Krgovich followed with a stunning set of Bruce Springsteen covers in support of his Boss Tape cassette.
Highlights included “Dancing in the Dark” and “Secret Garden,” both delivered with a delicate, understated touch.
He closed with “Streets of Philadelphia,” joined by Advance Base on vocals.
The line “Ain’t no angel gonna greet me / It’s just you and I, my friend” landed with emotional weight, leaving the room in a reflective hush.
