Last night, I crossed over to Gatineau for a lovely evening of live music at Salle Jean-Despréz with Basia Bulat and Shaina Hayes.
The show marked the kickoff of Basia Bulat’s Quebec-only tour in support of her 2025 album Basia’s Palace.
Her set was a warm, engaging blend of indie folk-pop, pulling from across her rich discography and filling the room with an intimate, inviting energy.
Opening the night was Shaina Hayes, who delivered a stripped-down solo acoustic set that set the tone beautifully for the evening.
